Just made it in time.....

Well, after having my photo printed out for the last 2 weeks, I finally got my layout done this afternoon for the Born2Create January Sketch challenge. I am really happy with it!

Here it is:

It is raining quite heavily here today. It started yesterday afternoon. It is coming from Cyclone Olga.
My best wishes to my brother in law Martin for a speedy recovery! He came off his motor bike yesterday while mustering rams, and has a fractured collar bone and 4 ribs (1 twice). Luckily he always wears a helmet - Thank goodness!!!! Out of all the bones to break, the ribs and clavicle are the only ones they don't splint, plaster or operate on. It is going to be slow going I think for a while! Best wishes to Martin, Kerry and Nathan xxxxxx

We recently went on a week and a half camping trip. We stayed with some lovely friends in Monto for 2 nights, the kids had a great time catching up. We then went on to Bagara which is a beach just outside Bundaberg. We stayed in a great caravan park there for 2 nights. Wanted to stay an extra night but they were booked out. It is a great beach there, very popular! From there we drove down to Woodgate Beach - this a really beautifil and unspoiled beach!!! Definitely want to come back here!!! We walked along the beach finding shells, had some lunch and ice cream, and then drove down to Hervey Bay.
Michael's brother and sister-in-law have lived in Hervey Bay for years. We put the camping trailer up in their back yard and used it as a base to explore and relax. It was lovely spending quality time with them. The beaches at Hervey Bay are beautiful and very safe to swim in. We took the kids fishing off the Urangan Pier a couple of times. It is a very popular fishing place with every man and his dog lining the railings of the pier.!! Megan caught 2 fish, as did Michael. I even caught my first fish since I was a kid. Very exciting !! We threw all the fish back.

We were going to take the kids down to Australia Zoo for a day, but we baulked at the price of $165 !!!!! Way too much. Instead we took the kids to see "Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 - The Squeakuel" at the movies. Also one day we drove down to the Sunshine Plaza shopping centre to catch up with a friend. Got a bargain on the kids school shoes, and went to 4 sunglass shops before we finally found a pair of kids sunnies for Ben. We ended up going to Myer as a last resort! There is a great new water park at Hervey Bay. The kids had lots of fun there for a few hours. It is free entry. It was built with funding for the Q150 celebrations. It is a great asset to Hervey Bay.
We then packed up and drove back up to Bundaberg to the rum factory and the Bundaberg soft drink factory. We kept going up to Town of 1770 where we were booked in at the Captain Cook CaravanPark for 2 nights. It is a nice bush caravan park with lots of bird life and native flora. There are some great views from the various look outs at 1770. We took the kids swimming at Agnes Water - with some trepidation from my part as there were numerous rips and big surf. However we stayed between the flags and kept the kids within reaching distance. We all had fun body surfing. The mosquito coils and repellant spray came in handy at the caravan park, as there were lots of mozzies and also big march flies.

We arrived home last Saturday evening, and everything is now all unpacked, washed and put away. Woodgate Beach.

.......And Another

Here is my layout for Ness' Scraplift Challenge at SWV. I loved creating this layout! I took this photo just last week of my 9 year old princess! I called it "Pure Style".

SWV January Sketch Challenge

The lovely Millie has posted a great monthly sketch challenge at SWV based on a pencillines sketch. As I have done more girl layouts than boy of late, I decided to use some photos I took of Ben last week in Mackay. I am really happy with the result.

It is raining lightly here at the moment. We had received a bit over 2 inches this week. Everything is looking fresh and green. With this weather, I have been on a bit of a scrapping roll over the last day or two. I want to do Ness' Scraplift Challenge at SWV yet, it is a scraplift challenge of a gorgeous layout by a great scrapper!

New Crafty Sketches Sketch

The new sketch to start off the New Year is up at Crafty Sketches Check out the new sketch designed by me, and the other CT ladies gorgeous layouts.

This is what I came up with:

You have until 31 January 2010 to create your layout and email it in.
