Junior Golf

My children signed up for Junior Golf last week. They played their first 3 Holes game this morning. In their group were 2 other children, both who they know from school. It was a lovely morning! I have never played golf and I know nothing about it, so luckily the other parent with us had a basic understanding of the game. At the end of it all, there was a small presentation, and Ben and another girl won the Best Net Score over their 3 Holes, and Megan won the Putting award. Their prizes were vouchers for the local video store.

Our Thoughts Are With You

My thoughts are well and truly with the victims and families of the terrible fires in Victoria. So many deaths, so many injuries, so much destruction. Also so much bravery and unbelievable strength from the people. The human spirit can be so very strong in times of crisis. Rest in peace to all of the casualties. Continued stength to all left behind to rebuild their lives.

I am currently in contact with our regional council to get their go ahead to organise an appeal to help the children in Victoria. I am asking for donations of toys and school supplies from the local community, that on behalf of the community and council I'll package up and forward on to the Red Cross. The person I need to speak with at the council, is in meetings all day, so I need to see her tomorrow.

Monthly Challenge on SWV

I get to set the new monthly challenge on SWV for 4 Feb. My challenge is: a layout on any topic, any colours. My criteria is "that whatever products you use, you use only ONE of them". For e.g. I used only 1 sheet of pp, 1 sheet of cardstock, 1 type/brand of brands, 1 type of bling flourish, 1 type/colour/brand of rhinestones, 1 colour of flowers, 1 colour of ribbon, 1 type of embroidery thread, 1 type of alphas. See, it is really quite easy, and lots of fun. This is my sample layout:
