Planes, trains, automobiles and more!!!

We have travelled on planes, trains, automobiles, mono-rails, ferries, buses and sky rails during our stay in Sydney!!! I din't think it leaves anything left???

We had a great day at Taronga Zoo today. Started out cool and overcast but soon cleared up and became comfortably warm. We saw lots of great exhibits, and enjoyed it all immensely. There is a bit of construction going on, so didn't see a couple of animals. I had my photo taken with a giraffe, and at the last minute Megan jumped in the photo with me! There are lots of different animals there.

We took the train from the city, and then caught the ferry to the Zoo. It is a great way to go.

We went to the Chinatown Night Markets last night.

Day 3 in Sydney

We had a very busy day in Sydney town today. We caught the train over to Circular Quay, and explored around the Rocks area. Got some great photos of the Bridge and the House. Ben wants to walk across the Bridge, but I think it is too far for him. We attended the Le Grande Cirque performance at the Opera House - AMAZING!!!! Those people are sooooooooooo flexible and strong! We caught the train back to the City, and investigated the Queen Victoria Building. It is just beautiful with ornate carving, wood work, stained glass windows and clocks.

We are spending the day at Taronga Zoo tomorrow.

From Sydney

It is cool, overcast and a bit drizzly here in Sydney. So, our plans changed a bit. We walked over to Darling Harbour and explored all around there. Michael went on and toured the HMAS Vampire and the submarine HMAS Onslow. The kids and I went up the lighthouse. I just happened to come across a shop that sells Pandora bracelets. So of course I went in and bought a lovely silver and pink bead to add to my bracelet!!!!!! We checked out the Chinese Gardens - just lovely. We walked across the Pyrmont Bridge to the Aquarium for lunch. We didn't go in as the line up was RIDICULOUS. Apparently dugongs have recently been added to the display so everyone wanted to go and see them. We have seen the dugong at Seaworld, so we decided to give it a miss. After lunch we walked over to the Powerhouse Museum. An awesome place!!! How is this for a small world??? Walking around the Harbour we ran into a policeman acquittance we have known for years. He and his wife are down here for 2 days, from Western Qld.

The Kids First Plane Trip

Well, we are in Sydney. The children loved their plane trip from Mackay to Brisbane, and then Brisbane to Sydney. They were a little disappointed that there weren't any loops etc during the trip!!!!!!!!!

We went around on the monorail this afternoon, and then walked up to Martin Plaza and found the Ch 7 studios. Michael wants to go there one morning and watch "Sunrise" morning show as it happens. We are going to explore Circular Quay tomorrow, and go on a ferry trip around the harbour. On Friday afternoon we going to the Opera House to see Cirque Le Grande.

Family Holiday

We are heading into Mackay today to visit DH's family for the week end. Then on Monday we head off on the children's first plane trip. We are spending a week in Sydney exploring around the Harbour, Opera House, Aquarium and Taronga Park Zoo. We are all really looking forward to it. We are staying in accommodation in the city, a bit more expensive but more accessible to the sights and sounds of Sydney.

I'll try to upload some photos while we are there, but if I may have to wait until we get back.

Some Scrapping to Finish Off 2008

After not doing any scrapping for a few weeks, I have done 3 layouts in the last week. They are all from when we went to Townsville before Christmas for DH's graduation from Uni. There are heaps more photos to scrap yet!
